Archaeology and ancient history discoveries are sometimes interesting, revelating and spellbinding in the world we live in. Nevertheless, sometimes there appears something unexplainable, something so spooky, so unexplicable, that it sends goose bumps up the spine of even the most experienced scientist. This artifact was discovered in a distant part of Siberia, and its frightening appearance and completely mysterious features confused specialists and even left them impotent to do something.
The Unaccountable Find
Everything started with a modest exploration party that travelled the Cold north of Siberia in order to investigate a hitherto unexplored cave complex buried in the frozen tundra. The site was not seen as inhabited over several thousand years and the mission was essentially on basis of environmental and geological study. In one of the caves, however, hidden behind a collapsed rock formation, the team found out a closed stone chamber. It was an object and nothing but a single object, but onto a raised stone pedestal an artifact that appeared totally misplaced to its attributed period.

It was metallic, about one foot tall and in the form of a human. Not a common statue this, however. Its relative sizes were slightly untrue. The limbs were also very long where they shouldn t be, the facial features grotesque, a little too long and hollow eyed, the mouth is always open in silent scream. It was cold on the outside, and could hardly get warm, though when held with both hands a long time it could be made to feel warm.

The age was one of the most confusing elements of it. Once-carbon dating of nearby organic remains indicated that the chamber was closed no less than 12,000 years earlier, well before any well-known advanced metalworking cultures. This would be potentially re-writing of human history, but, of course, only, in case it turns out correct, the artifact goes back before the ancient Mesopotamia and Egyptians.
Moreover, the metal could not be ruined or corroded in any way. It survived the intense lasers, acid tests even intense heat with no damage whatsoever. Other theories started to appear that the object was not earthly originated and there was a heated debate taking place among the circles of the scientists.
Unwanted Attention
Very quickly, the word about the artifact has reached those not involved in the academic sphere. The interest in the case brisked among paranormal researchers, conspiracy theorists and even intelligence services. A number of government agencies demanded the artifact to be open to them on national security grounds. People were coming to the lab with mysterious reasons and unusual cars could be seen in the neighborhood. Anonymous threats started being thrown to some scientists that engaged in the activity, stating that they should stop what they were doing.
Increase of Paranormal Events
The strangeness of the object grew even the more as time went by. If someone were to ask me about the safety of using the artifact, I would say that one researcher fainted after he heard a voice directly in his mind and this was the result of using the artifact. Video later revealed that they were standing there staring at it and that they would have done so for the last three hours with their eyes never taking a break.
The other unexplainable experience happened in an arranged testing. Lights in the lab went off mysteriously and every electronic device turned off. When power came back the statue had moved about thirty degrees and was facing in another direction-with no physical evidence of motion or manipulation.
Clues and other Finds of History
Interestingly, the same was reported in other regions around the globe whereby similar artifacts had been found at some point, but not to such details as the Siberian one, not to mention the horror. Others cited the ancient Mesopotamian literature saying that it talked about watchers composed of cold fire that appeared in the stars. There were tribal legends in South America of the existence of the so-called metal people who were buried deep in the mountains and they should never be touched.
These links though too speculative also fed theories that the artifact not only could be very old but also could be connected to some hidden history of the human race itself- one where unknown visitors or ancient beings could have left behind evidence of their having been here.
Ethical Dilemma and Lost Artifacts
Following heated arguments and pressures by people, it was decided that the artifact would be sealed off and taken off the official records. However before this could be effectively set-up the artifact had gone mysteriously lost at the facility. There was nothing on the surveillance videos; only the statics during the crucial hours. There remained only a heavy burn mark upon the pedestal and a vague, lingering echo,–as of something far away and incomprehensible, being whispered distantly.
Until now people have not found the artifact or been able to ascertain where it is. Most of the scientists have either not said much, or abandoned the field of science altogether. Others, they say, have disappeared altogether, and there is consequent additional speculation and mystery.
Conclusion
The old Siberian object is, perhaps, the most creepy and mysterious find ever had. It was unexplainable by scientific standards, it rocked our perceptions about what has happened in the world and it was accompanied by an atmosphere of fear that even the coldest nerves could not withstand. Was it an artifact of some long forgotten civilization, something of an alien provenance or worse, something that was never intended to be discovered?
Until the answers get unearthed, this mysterious relic remains reshaping the precincts of science and history with an eerie reminder that some mysteries are always going to remain unsolved.
